The Sherman ISD Athletic Scholarships are now available for your submission. Sherman ISD offers scholarship opportunities to seniors that are in good standings and qualify based on the requirements of each listed scholarship opportunity.

Jerry Cantrell Scholarship Application

 

General Information: 

The Cantrell family and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School athletes continue their education in college. A scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded annually to one football player. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher educational institution.

 

Criteria and Eligibility: 

1. Applicant must be a student in good standing at Sherman High School.

2. Applicant must be graduating in the year the award is given.

3. Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.

4. Athlete must have played at least (2) years of football for Sherman High School.

5. Athletes are not eligible if awarded a NCAA Division 1 athletic scholarship.

6. Applicant must demonstrate a dedication to bettering themselves academically by working to obtain a college degree.

7. Athletes do not need to play a sport in college in order to be eligible for the scholarship.

 

Application Process:

1. Applicant must complete the application form through the SISD Athletic Website (PDF or Google Form)

2. Applicant must submit an official copy of their most current Sherman High School transcript.

3. Applicant must submit a copy of their acceptance letter from an accredited college or university.

4. Applicant must submit (2) two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher and one from a coach currently employed with Sherman High School.

 

Tommy Hudspeth Scholarship Application

 

General Information:

The Tommy Hudspeth Family and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School Athletes continue their dreams beyond high school. A scholarship in the amount of $500 or more will be awarded annually to one male or female athlete. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher educational institution.

Trenell Walker and the Sherman Athletic Booster Club are committed to helping Sherman High School Athletes continue their dream of competing in their chosen sport at the collegiate level. A scholarship in the amount of $500 or more will be awarded annually to one male and one female athlete. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student recipients upon evidence of registration in an accredited higher educational institution.

 

Criteria and Eligibility:

1. Applicant must be a student in good standing at Sherman High School.

2. Applicant must be graduating in the year the award is given.

3. Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.

4. Applicant must possess a letter of intent from an accredited higher educational institution to play a sport.

5. Applicant must demonstrate dedication to his or her chosen sport as well as a commitment to bettering themselves academically by working to obtain a college degree.
